LavinMQ -- a fast, lightweight AMQP message broker and streaming server
LavinMQ is an ultra fast, lightweight open source message queue and streaming server. It speaks AMQP 0.9.1 and is a drop in replacement for RabbitMQ, so existing AMQP clients, libraries and management tooling work unchanged. LavinMQ is built for high throughput and low memory use, making it a strong backbone for asynchronous messaging, task queues, work distribution and event streaming between services.
This cloudimg image runs LavinMQ 2.9.1 on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS from the official upstream Docker image under a thin systemd wrapper. The broker exposes the AMQP protocol on port 5672 for producers and consumers, and a built in web management console on port 15672 for operating queues, exchanges, connections and users. Broker data is persisted on the instance so queues and definitions survive a reboot.
The image is secure by default. The stock guest account is deleted on first boot and a unique administrator credential is generated for each instance and stored in a root only file, so there is no default login on the network and no two deployments share a secret. LavinMQ also keeps its default user restricted to loopback, so no known credential is ever reachable remotely.
LavinMQ is licensed under the Apache License 2.0 and is free to use. The cloudimg charge covers packaging, security patching, image maintenance and 24/7 expert support.
