GeoServer OGC Geospatial Server | 24/7 Support by cloudimg

GeoServer is the reference open source server for publishing your geospatial data to the world using open Open Geospatial Consortium standards, WMS for map images, WFS for vector features, WCS for coverages and WMTS for map tiles, all managed through a rich built in Web Admin console.

This appliance installs GeoServer 3.0.0 from the official platform independent distribution on OpenJDK 21, running as a systemd service bound to loopback behind an nginx reverse proxy on port 80. The shipped sample layers are preloaded so the Web Admin Layer Preview and a real WMS map render work out of the box. The GEOSERVER_DATA_DIR, its configuration and published data live on a dedicated Azure data disk.

A unique admin password is generated on every VM's first boot and written to a root only file, and the keystore master password is rotated too, so no VM ever ships with GeoServer's well known default credential.
