MantisBT 2.28 Bug Tracker on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS by cloudimg
by cloudimg
MantisBT is a fully configured, open-source issue and bug tracker ready to use in minutes.
MantisBT is the long established open source web based issue and bug tracker used by software teams worldwide to capture bugs and feature requests with custom fields, severities and priorities, route them through configurable workflows and projects, notify stakeholders by email, and track them to resolution from a clean web dashboard. This image is built and maintained by cloudimg on a hardened, fully patched Ubuntu 24.04 LTS base, with MantisBT 2.28 served by nginx and PHP 8.3 FPM and a bundled local MariaDB server, so the appliance is complete and useful on its own. The web installer has already been run and removed, and MantisBT's well known default administrator login has been rotated away, so you land directly on the sign in page.
A unique MariaDB password, a unique configuration secret and a unique administrator password are generated on the first boot of every VM, and the administrator password is written to a root only file. The shipped image carries the administrator credential rotated to a discarded random value, so no known or blank credential authenticates. Browse to MantisBT on port 80, sign in as the administrator, and start creating projects, categories and users and tracking issues straight away.
The MariaDB database, where MantisBT stores issues, notes and attachments, lives on a single dedicated managed data disk kept separate from the operating system disk, so your tracker data rides with the VM. The bundled MariaDB listens only on the loopback interface (127.0.0.1:3306) and is never exposed to the network. An unauthenticated /healthz endpoint is provided for load balancer probes. For production, front port 80 with your own domain and TLS.
