Self-hosted recipe manager for households: URL recipe import, meal plans and shopping lists.
Mealie on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS by cloudimg
Mealie is the self-hosted recipe manager, meal planner and shopping-list builder: import recipes from any URL with one click, organise them with tags and categories, plan your week and generate shopping lists. The cloudimg image runs Mealie behind an nginx reverse proxy on port 80, persists recipes and images on a dedicated Azure data disk, and generates unique admin credentials on the first boot of every VM. Backed by 24/7 expert support.
Dedicated Data Disk
Recipes, images and the database live on a dedicated, independently resizable Azure data disk mounted at /var/lib/mealie, separate from the OS disk and re-provisioned with every VM.
Secure By Default
The admin credentials are unique per VM and stored in a root-only file; public signup is disabled out of the box. nginx fronts the loopback app so only port 80 is exposed; front it with TLS for production.
