RosarioSIS on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS by cloudimg

Self hosted student information system over HTTPS, with a unique admin password per VM.
RosarioSIS is a complete open source Student Information System for primary and secondary schools and colleges. One web application covers student records and enrolment, the course catalogue and scheduling, the teacher gradebook, report cards, transcripts and GPA, attendance, discipline, eligibility, student billing, staff accounting, food service, school calendars and marking periods, and a portal where parents and students follow grades, attendance and schedules.
What you get. The official RosarioSIS 12.9.4 release, fully installed on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. Apache 2.4 serves the application over HTTPS with PHP 8.3 running through PHP-FPM on a local UNIX socket, backed by a PostgreSQL 16 database bound to localhost. The database is installed during the image build from the command line, so the RosarioSIS web installer is never reachable on your VM and there is nothing to set up before you sign in.
No default credential. RosarioSIS's upstream demo accounts come with passwords equal to their usernames. In this image the administrator's is replaced before it is ever written, and the demo teacher, parent and student accounts cannot sign in until you give them a password. On each VM's first boot the image generates its own administrator password, database password and HTTPS certificate and writes the credentials to a file readable only by root, and RosarioSIS asks you to choose a new administrator password at the first sign in.
Hardened by default. Only SSH and HTTPS are reachable from outside the VM; port 80 issues a permanent redirect to HTTPS. The database and PHP-FPM are not network services, uploaded files are never executed, and password reset links always point at the VM's own address rather than a hostname supplied by a browser. An Azure public IP that changes across a stop and start is picked up automatically.
