Tududi on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS

by cloudimg

Tududi is a calm self hosted home for your tasks, projects, notes and areas of work.

Self hosted task management without the noise. Tududi organises what you have to do into tasks, projects, notes and higher level areas of responsibility, then lets you look at exactly the same work the way that suits the moment. An inbox catches anything you want out of your head quickly. A Today list shows what is actually due. A Kanban board moves work from To Do through In Progress to Done. An Eisenhower matrix helps you decide what genuinely matters when everything feels urgent. Recurring tasks, due dates, priorities, tags and subtasks keep long running commitments visible without turning the tool into another job. This cloudimg image runs Tududi 1.2.4 built from the pinned upstream release tag with Node.js 22 on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS.

It is genuinely single node. Tududi stores everything in SQLite, so there is no database server to provision, tune or back up separately, and the whole appliance runs comfortably on a small virtual machine. The application server is bound to the loopback interface and an nginx reverse proxy on port 80 is the only way in, so the Node.js process is never exposed directly. Your database and file attachments live under /var/lib/tududi owned by an unprivileged service account, which keeps backup and restore to a single directory and a documented SQLite snapshot command.

Nothing usable is baked into the image. It contains no database, no administrator account and no session signing secret at all. On its first boot each machine generates its own session secret and its own administrator password, creates a fresh database, runs the schema migrations and writes the login to a root only file. That matters for more than the password: sessions are signed with that secret, so a shared one would let any customer forge a session against another customer's deployment. The application unit is deliberately held back behind a bootstrap marker until first boot has finished, so it can never start unconfigured. Sign in attempts are rate limited, and the session cookie becomes secure automatically the moment you put TLS in front of it.

Tududi is distributed under the MIT License, free and open source with no per user, per CPU or per deployment fee. cloudimg is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Tududi project; Tududi is a mark of its owner. cloudimg provides packaging, the secure by default configuration, per instance credential automation, security patching, a step by step deployment guide, and 24/7 support with a guaranteed 24 hour response SLA.
