Wavelog amateur-radio logbook on Ubuntu 24.04, preconfigured by cloudimg with 24/7 support
Wavelog is a popular open source, self-hosted amateur-radio logbook used by radio amateurs worldwide to log their contacts from any web browser. This image delivers Wavelog fully installed, configured, and security hardened so you have a complete logging platform running within minutes of launch, eliminating hours of manual dependency installation, web server configuration, and database setup that a self-managed deployment requires.
With a standard Wavelog deployment you must install PHP and its extensions, configure a web server, provision a database, run the install wizard, and then harden credentials. This image completes all of that for you before first boot, so you can focus on operating rather than infrastructure. Compared to free community images, this listing includes 24/7 expert support from cloudimg covering deployment guidance, integration setup, upgrades, performance tuning, and database administration.
Application stack: Wavelog latest stable release, PHP 8.3 with OPcache and all required extensions, the Apache web server with a TLS ready configuration, and the MariaDB database engine. Your logbook data lives in the bundled MariaDB, which listens on the loopback interface only and is never exposed to the network.
On the first boot of your instance, a one shot service generates a fresh MariaDB password and a fresh Wavelog administrator password unique to that instance and writes them to a root only file, so no shared or default passwords ship in the image. The Wavelog code tree, web server, and database are all configured, the install wizard is already completed and locked away, and the application derives its address from the request automatically. Browse to the instance address and sign in to log contacts, import and export ADIF, track DXCC entities and awards, sync with LoTW, eQSL, QRZ and Clublog, and view your band activity, maps and statistics.
