Foxit PDF Editor Cloud for SharePoint – SPFx Solution
This solution package is a SharePoint Framework (SPFx) application that seamlessly integrates Foxit's professional PDF capabilities directly into SharePoint Online. It consists of SPFx extensions that enhance the document library user interface, enabling users to create, edit, combine, and convert PDFs without leaving SharePoint.
SPFx Components Included in This Package:
• SPFx List View Command Set Extension: This component adds custom context menu commands (e.g., “Convert to PDF,” “Combine,” “Export”) to the SharePoint document library toolbar and file menu. These commands appear when users select one or more supported files (PDFs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), providing direct access to Foxit PDF Editor Cloud’s features.
Key Features & Benefits:
• Convert to PDF: Instantly convert selected non-PDF files (Word, Excel, etc.) into high-quality PDF documents.
• Combine & Organize PDFs: Merge multiple PDFs and Office files into a single PDF for easy distribution. Reorganize documents by deleting, inserting, rotating, or splitting pages.
• Export to Editable Formats: Export PDFs to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or RTF while preserving original formatting, fonts, and layouts.
• High-Quality Online Viewer: Preview PDFs with exceptional fidelity directly in the browser.
• Real-Time Collaboration: Host secure reviews with live comments and annotations within SharePoint.
Licensing:
This add-in includes free features (such as viewing and commenting) for all users. Access to premium features (like exporting, combining, advanced editing) requires a licensed subscription to Foxit PDF Editor+. Please visit https://www.foxit.com/shopping/ or contact your enterprise administrator.
For Administrators – Deployment & Management
This SPFx solution can be deployed from the SharePoint Store (Microsoft AppSource) or your organization’s App Catalog.
Deployment Options:
As an administrator, you have two deployment choices:
Option 1: "Select only enable this app": This option adds the app to your tenant’s app catalog, allowing site owners and users with appropriate permissions to manually add this Foxit PDF Editor Cloud integrated app to specific sites or Microsoft 365 Groups.
How To Add the App to a Site?
1.Navigate to the SharePoint site where you want to use Foxit PDF Editor Cloud.
2.Click the Settings (gear icon) in the top-right corner and select Add an app.
3.On the “Your Apps” page, find and click on the tile named Foxit PDF Editor Cloud for SharePoint.
4.Click Add to install it on the site.
Please note: The installation will take a moment. Once complete, you can go to any document library on that site. When you select a PDF or supported Office file, the “Open with Foxit PDF Editor” option will appear in the file menu or toolbar.
Option 2:"Enable this app and add it to all sites": This option deploys and installs the app automatically to all sites in your tenant, making the Foxit PDF Editor Cloud integrated app immediately available to all users.
For End Users:
End users typically do not need to “download” the solution. Once an administrator deploys the solution, users can directly access and use its features within the SharePoint site. If a user requires the application on a specific site, they can request that an administrator add it.
